The experiences a child has in the first years of Montessori aid in helping her develop concentration, coordination and work habits necessary for advanced learning. We've discovered that the younger a child enters Montessori, the more she will benefit. Of course, there are tremendous benefits to be gained at any age.

Students in the Children's House program attend a five days a week from 9 a.m. to noon. (A three-day program is also available.) See Enrollment.

When she turns five and is physically, intellectually and socially mature enough to handle additional academic work, she is admitted to the extended day program which would be the equivalent of the kindergarten year in some cases. Talk to one of our teachers for details.

Montessori considers the elementary time frame the second stage of development and a time of great stability. This program allows each student to work at his own pace without interruptions from bells or sudden changes of subject.

Students are taught mathematics, language arts, social studies, botany, zoology, science, geography, culture, world religions, history, Spanish, music and physical education.

Our program meets all the North Carolina Department of Non-Public Instruction requirements including standardized testing where applicable.

* A small fee is charged for early drop-off, lunch hour and after-care.
