PARENT GROUPS AND COMMITTEES

Volunteers are a must at Wayne Montessori. The school is "owned and administered" by parent
volunteers. The school's policy requires a minimum of ten hours time of each family each school
year. The board member who is the point of contact for each committee is listed below.

CLASSROOM PARENTS

Classroom parents plan special events and holiday activities for their child's/children's classroom.
(Halloween, Christmas, Valentine's Day, and Easter) They also help repair the learning materials
used in the classroom and/or make new items as needed by the directress. These individuals coordinate the involvement of all parents of the class or classes they represent. It is recommended
that there be 5 “classroom parents” with 1 chairperson for each room.

Photograph events and maintain an annual photo album. Recommended: 1 chairperson.

NEWSLETTER

Editor compiles, types, and has copies made of monthly newsletter. Recommended: 1 editor with
3 members for copying and collating.

ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT

Submit a story and a photo for the newsletter each month about an accomplished alumni student.
Recommended: 1 chairperson.

SPRING REVERSE RAFFLE

This is the school’s major fundraiser for the year. All families are encouraged to participate.
Recommended: 2 chairpersons and 8-10 members

FALL FLING

An indoor yard sale. Help coordinate advertising, donations, set up, sales and clean up.
Recommended: 1 chairperson and 4 members.

SCHOOL PICTURES

Arranges professional photographer, helps with the children on picture day, collects orders,
supervises delivery and payments, and distributes orders. Scheduled in fall and spring.
Recommended: 1 chairperson and 2 members.
